The Holy Temple of Witchcraft
Letter to Prospective Students From the Temple
Merry Meet!
We are writing this letter to those prospective Students and possibly eventual Members. This letter is to let prospective Students know what to expect of our Temple, and what we expect of them. In the past, we have had many people join our classes who didn't take the time to read all the information about our Temple. Later, these same people got upset at us when we tried to enforce the rules that were there for them to read PRIOR to joining our lessons. Everything we'll talk about in this letter is available to read somewhere on our site.
The first thing our Temple would like Prospective Students to know...is that we expect our Students to work hard on their lessons. A lot of Students have found our Witchcraft 101 Lessons to be easy. But those are just some basics. When you get into further training with our Temple, the lessons are not extremely hard, but they're NOT easy either. Our Temple just does not hand out degrees. If you want a degree, be prepared to work for it! You will be expected to complete one lesson with a test/assignment each week. If you are not able to, or are unwilling to work on these lessons...please refrain from signing up until you are able to do so. This leaves class space open for those Students who are dedicated and truly ready to learn.
Here's what you can expect of our Temple if you do your part...
1) A safe place to learn. You can express your ideas and ask questions openly during training. You will not be told that your ideas or questions are stupid. And you will get educated answers to your questions.
2) A Temple Community where you can interact with other Temple Members. You can just come to talk, or you can use our Temple's resources...such as counseling for Members, you can get advice from other Members, and many other available resources. As a Member of our Temple, you are a Member of our "Family". We have chat rooms, message boards, training resources, online Temple Sabbats, online Temple Esabts (for Members ranked Dedicate or higher), Temple Get Togethers, etc.
3) A place where your ideas and opinions count. We encourage everyone who has ideas for improving our Temple to share them. We are constantly asking Temple Members for their opinions on Temple related issues. Every Member who is a Dedicate or higher is a Council Member and will be able to vote on various Temple issues. We also have a Peer Council where five Temple Members are chosen to help Members solve disputes they cannot settle themselves, and they are nominated and voted upon by the Members.
These are not all of the benefits offered to Temple Members, but we do not want to have you spending a lot of excessive time having to read this letter. Now you are probably wondering what we will expect of you? How much do you think we should expect from you for all of this?
Lots of money like some groups?
Tradition of the Witches Circle They want $130 for their Witchcraft 101 Lessons.
LearningWitchcraft.com They want $61 for their Witchcraft 101 Lessons.
These are just two of the many sites that charge a large amounts for their Witchcraft 101 Lessons. We do not expect that. We only charge $10 for our Witchcraft 101 Lessons, which is to help cover the yearly cost of our website where we do most of our training. The only other thing we expect is some of your time and participation, and to follow Temple rules and guidelines. That is not a lot to ask in return for everything our Temple will offer you.
Here is what our Temple expects of it's Members and Students...
1) Following Temple Laws and Guidelines. We expect Members and Students to follow all rules and guidelines set down in the Temple By-Laws, Temple Compact, and the Personal Laws of Conduct. These can be found on the About Us page of our website.
2) Follow all rules and guidelines set down for Students who are training with us. These can be found under Class Policies on the Training page of our website.
We expect our Members and Students to participate in Temple events and to spend some time getting to know the other Temple Members and Students. We have quite a few "physical" events for our Members and Students that live near our Temple Homestead, and we have quite a few "online" events for those Members and Students who do not live near us. There is information in our Member's area of the different types of events we have, who is eligible to attend, and whether it is mandatory for Members and Students to attend. But, just because something is not-mandatory, does not mean we are not looking at your effort to attend. We DO look at this when we go to decide if we would like to accept a Student into further training AND Membership with our Temple. We keep track of attendance, and we CAN see when and how often you log on to the website. For our full fledge Temple Members, they are expected to attend at least 75% of all Temple events. (75% for each type of event, not overall events). Those Members who do not follow attendance guidelines will lose their Membership to our Temple.
Please remember that finishing our Witchcraft 101 Lessons does not guarantee that you will be accepted into further training with our Temple, but it is mandatory to be able to do so. Also, the High Council looks not only at a Student's grades when deciding whether or not to accept a Student into further training with our Temple...but ALSO the Student's overall attitude AND their participation in Temple events! If you do not participate within the Temple, DO NOT get upset if you are not accepted into further training.
Thank you for reading this letter. We hope this gives you more insight as to what our Temple offers our Members and Students, and what we expect in return from them. An organization cannot succeed without some give and take on both ends. If you still have unanswered questions, feel free to contact us. Blessed Be!
