Here we will list the most commonly asked questions and their answers. If you do not find your question listed on here, feel free to e-mail us and ask.
Q: What is "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft"?
A: We are a Witchcraft Temple dedicated to honoring the Lord and Lady, providing a place for our Members to meet and get together, and also providing a safe place for our Members to learn the Craft.
Q: When was "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft" established?
A: We were established on August 8th, 2005. We are a fairly small and new Temple, but we are currently growing.
Q: Is "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft" a legally recognized non-profit organization?
A: Yes, we are. As a Temple/Church organization, we are legally recognized as a tax exempt Church.
Q: Is "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft" incorporated?
A: No, we are not.
Q: Are there any other groups affiliated with "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft"?
A: Right now there are not any other groups associated with our Temple. That might change in the future. Please check our "Sister Temples" page for any of our Sister Temples or to find out how you can start one.
Q: What path do you have to be to join?
Any path. We believe that there is no one right path. The God and Goddess may choose to manifest themselves differently to different individuals.
Q: If I join "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft", do I have to abandon my old beliefs or convert?
A: No. We believe that there is no one right path for everyone. Each member is free to worship the Deities of whatever path they like. We do have some rules and Witchcraft basics we require everyone to follow, but we do not tell you what you have to believe beyond that.
Q: Is there an age requirement/cut off?
A: We require anyone wishing to join our Temple to be at least 18 years of age. We accept members ages 16-18 ONLY if they have a notarized letter of permission from BOTH of their parents, and the High Priestess must also speak to BOTH of these parents. The only acception to this rule is for the minor children of current Temple Members. We do not have a cut off age, since we do not discriminate because of age.
Q: How do I join "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft"?

Q: Do you have to live in a certain area to be considered for membership?
A: No. We have had students and members from all over the USA, Canada, and we even had a student from the UK, and a student from South Africa. Our physical Temple is located in Miamisburg, OH... but we also have our internet Temple
Q: I'm not a member, but I'm interested in becoming one. May I attend some "Temple Only" events to see what they're like?
A: Normally we don't allow this. We encourage you to attend our "Open" events. Although, You may attend one if you are invited by a Temple member and are approved by the Council.
Q: Do I have to be a member of "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft" to attend events?
A: That depends on the event. If it is an "Open" event, you don't have to be a member. If it is a "Temple Only" event, you must either be a member, or be invited by a Temple member after being approved by Council.
Q: Which Sabbats do you honor?
A: We honor all 8 major Craft Sabbats. Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh, and Mabon.
Q: Which Esbats do you honor?
A: As a group we celebrate the Full Moon Esbats. We encourage members to personally celebrate the New Moons, but it is not a requirement.
Q: What Gods and Goddesses do you use during rituals?
A: We don't use specific Deities during rituals. We normally just invoke the God and Goddess in a general aspect during group rituals. Any member is free to invoke whichever God and Goddess they personally believe in during their own personal solitary rituals.
Q: Do I have to wear special clothing to an event?
A: To "Open" events, you may wear anything you want as long as it is appropriate. To "Temple Only" events, you must wear the clothing specified.
Q: How does a member of "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft" become a Priest/ess or High Priest/ess?
A: They must complete and pass all course work required by our Temple to be able to be a Priest/ess or High Priest/ess.
Q: Who is allowed to take classes or receive training in "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft"?
A: The first step in our training, Witchcraft 101 Lessons, are open to anyone and everyone who would like to take them. All other classes are only open to those who have completed our Witchcraft 101 Lessons and have been accepted into further training.
Q: How do you apply for training in "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft"?

Q: How long do classes take?
A: With the "Witchcraft 101 Lessons", there is one lesson a week for 6 months (24 weeks). With the "1st Degree Lessons", there is one lesson a week for one year. With the "2nd Degree Lessons", there are two lessons a week for one year. With the "3rd Degree Lessons", there is one lessons a week for about one year, but the High Priestess will decide when the Students is ready for their 3rd Degree Initiation.
Q: When are classes held?
A: Our Witchcraft 101 Lessons have four start dates each Temple year. The Witchcraft 101 Lesson starts dates are November 15th, February 15th, May 15th, and August 15th. All other lessons have two start dates each year. The 1st Degree Lessons start dates are December 15th and June 15th. The 2nd Degree Lessons start dates are January 15th-21st and July 15th-21st. The 3rd Degree Lessons start dates are February 15th and August 15th.
Q: Does it cost anything to learn through "The Holy Temple of Witchcraft"?
A: It costs a non-refundable fee of $10 to sign up for our Witchcraft 101 Lessons. If you are un-enrolled from a course for lack of attendance, there is a $5 fee to re-enroll you, which we will allow only once. There are no other charges to train with our Temple.
Q: Could I attend one of your events to take photos/video/interviews for a class?
A: No. There are many members of our Temple who are not "out of the broom closet" and do not want the exposure for fear of their lives, jobs, etc... If you would like to interview a member of our Temple for a class, ask us and we might be able to set something up.
